Our Transport Services team based in Tauranga is currently in search of a Project Engineer to join their team.  Focusing on the delivery of Pavement Construction and Minor Safety projects around the Bay of Plenty region, your role will involve managing and leading teams in the delivery of a range of services to help shape the Region. You will assist the Contract and Project Managers with day to day operations, project documentation and contractual issues, working closely with Supervisors. This is a diverse and challenging role that includes both office and site based activities and will from time to time involve travel and working away. 

Other duties will include:

  • Developing solutions, strategies and interventions, pricing and programming, planning, construction and claiming for a variety of road maintenance and associated construction projects and packages of work including bridge maintenance.
  • Development and monitoring of baseline and working programmes, ensuring adequate levels of project control
  • Supporting the operational team with the work pack process

About you:

Ideally you will have experience working within civil / renewal maintenance and construction contracts as well as:

  • 2 + years' experience in a similar civil engineering position
  • A formal civil engineering qualification (e.g. BE, NZCE)
  • Excellent organisational skills and customer relationship management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to grow your leadership skills as you work towards becoming a contract manager
  • High level of RAMM Contractor competency
  • Be a self-starter, highly motivated and goal oriented
  • Experience with, and a strong commitment to health and safety initiatives
  • Current drivers’ licence
