Downer Power & Gas is a leading provider of end-to-end services to owners of electricity, gas, water, transport and industrial assets across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. We design, construct, operate, maintain and manage assets and systems to deliver optimal results for owners and their customers.

The Role:

You will be the first point of contact for customers, members of the public, and other Power & Gas stakeholders. Based in Mt Maunganui, you will be responsible for:

  • Dispatching of faults received from clients to field based employees
  • Managing and escalating customer complaints and issues as appropriate.
  • Process orders, forms and applications
  • Purchase order creation for engaging external contractors
  • Being the liaison for contractors with the operation and despatch team
  • Our rosters cover a 24/7 service. The current opportunity will be:  Tuesday – Wednesday 4pm – 7.30pm, Thursday Friday Saturday 9.30pm - 7.30am

About You:

With strong customer service experience in a high call volume environment, you’ll be a proven multi-tasker able to react quickly to urgent requests whilst maintaining a great phone manner. An outgoing personality with a positive, flexible approach to your daily challenges will be highly valued as well as an ability to develop effective relationships to make things happen. You will also demonstrate:

  • Attention to detail
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • The ability to liaise with both external clients and the wider Downer team
  • Friendly personality with a solutions focussed attitude
  • Strong MS Office skills including intermediate Excel
  • Computer savvy with ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • Call centre/dispatch experience is an advantage
