National HR Manager Infrastructure Projects

In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your extensive HR experience and smarts within a fast moving, people-centric business. We work in highly dynamic market requiring a hands-on approach, flexible solutions and focused execution delivered through strong relationships.
As the lead HR role in one of the four Downer divisions, you will work closely with leaders and specialists in the business to provide expertise, leadership and guidance on effective people practices. You will work as part of the leadership team to develop the strategic HR Plan for your division. You will facilitate initiatives such as capability plans, engagement action plans, talent development, leadership capability and change. Operationally you will provide generalist HR advice, coaching, collective bargaining and union engagement, resource forecasting, and transactional support whilst ensuring Downer people practices are understood and embedded.
This role also forms part of the Downer HR Leadership team, reporting to the EGM People & Culture, and will contribute to the development of the overall HR Strategic Plan. You will have access to expertise across the HR disciplines, and work on strategic programmes that provide opportunity for further development.
This is a highly influential role that is vital in supporting people managers’ to develop the capability of their teams and realise the potential of their performance. A collaborative working style is a must, focusing on pragmatic solutions to complex problems.
We are seeking applications from seasoned HR practitioners who have experience working as a partner with the business to achieve superior business outcomes. You will have breadth of knowledge across all areas of HR including employee relations, organisation design, remuneration, performance management, people development, people leadership and change.

As this is a national role some travel will be required.
