Our Tauranga Water team have a number of opportunities for either Construction Workers and/or an Apprentice with a genuine interest in the civil infrastructure industry to work as part of the construction crew to deliver water construction works including water reticulation, wastewater and stormwater networks to the Tauranga City Council.

Reporting to the Water Construction Manager, these roles require the ability to travel and a wiliness to work overtime.

The Worker will have the competence to operate machinery and equipment, install water and waste water pipe and ancillary equipment. Ideally we are looking for people with several years’ experience in water construction, stormwater drainage or water reticulation maintenance, drain / pipe laying and hold a water certificate 3 qualification or drainlaying or civil construction equivalent.

It would be great if you were also qualified in the identification and rating of faults, and had traffic management skills. A New Zealand Driver Licence Class 1 (must have), Class 2 & RTW an advantage

The Apprentice position will assist and support the crew delivering water construction works while developing a professional level of knowledge and skills through on-job training and formal study with practical experience provided through the TCC Three Waters Maintenance Contract. Ideally you will have NZEA Level 2 and a restricted New Zealand driver licence at a minimum.

These are excellent opportunities if you have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are physically fit and agile, happy to get a little dirty, have a safety first attitude and be able to think outside the square.
