Site Engineer - Infrastructure Projects North (Lower North Island)

Downer's civil engineering teams are involved in a variety of stimulating projects across New Zealand. We are currently looking for an experienced Site Engineer to assist us with this work.
Based in Wellington, as a Site Engineer with Downer your days will be busy and varied, so a flexible attitude is essential! Your role will be to manage all aspects of the civil and structural operation reporting directly to the Project Engineer. You will have the opportunity to develop and maintain strong client relationships, liaise with the public and prepare progress and claim reports. You will also have a quality and safety ethos and perform audits and checks to ensure compliance with Health & Safety, quality and environmental policies.
We are looking for individuals with the following skills and experience:
- Have a BE qualification or Diploma in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven practical experience in a contracting environment
- Excellent problem solving ability
- Strong work ethic
- A good health and safety related track record
- A current, full driver's license is essential
- Be keen to learn and develop your career
