Our current Southern Commercial Support Manager has decided that it is time to travel and see more of the world, as such we are now on the hunt for someone who can take over the mantle.

Based within our Transport Services team in Dunedin and working across the South Island, you’ll be integral to the success of the delivery of our Southern Transport Services plan.

You’ll be exposed to an outstanding opportunity involving diverse and challenging work across the South Island region, and have the chance to work alongside some of the best minds in the business, undertaking ground breaking methods to provide the best in service to our customers.

About the role:
This is a key leadership role with plenty of opportunity to put your mark on the business.  Working alongside the wider team, you’ll work seamlessly across the business implementing and facilitating business improvement initiatives to deliver longer term outcomes whilst also integrating with operational teams to resolve short term customer issues.

You’ll be responsible for supporting the contractual, financial and risk management within the business with a strong focus on identifying and securing work and ensuring it is managed in line within Downer processes and systems. You will also have responsibility for managing the Southern estimators and allocating their work loads.

So who are you?
At this level, it’s a given that you’ll tick all the standard things like being self-driven, motivated, able to communicate and engage at all levels, and of course be commercially savvy.

What would greatly help your success in the role is working knowledge and understanding of the civil construction industry.  As well as the ability to work both as part of a team and on your own.

Your attention to detail will pick up when I’s have been crossed and t’s dotted.
