Continuing the move to focus the Downer NZ business to better meet the needs of our customers, we are looking for a Customer Experience and Communications Manager to join our team.

About the role:
In this newly created role, you’ll be reporting to the Strategy & Growth Manager within our Transport Services division, where you’ll put your mix of customer experience and design, business change and communications to good use.

Our goal is to be our clients’ preferred partner, to lead the way in our industry and attract and retain the very best people. To meet our clients’ changing needs and to best serve our customers, we need to truly understand what makes a great customer experience, and how we, as an organisation, can provide this.

In this role, you will develop, enhance and deliver our customer engagement strategy, and meaningfully showcase our organisational capabilities with our clients, customers and stakeholders. This role will have key relationships both internally and externally, and is a great opportunity to shape, live and embed our cultural values of collaboration and integrity.

About you:
You’ll be someone with strong emotional intelligence, passion and drive; smarts and commercial acumen; courage; a collaborative and team-based focus; a passion for our business (or the desire to learn about it); an understanding of operational excellence, and a proven background in delivering on operational promises and commercial outcomes.

You’ll also bring with you:

  • The ability to work strategically and deliver tactically
  • Proven ability to build relationships with people at all levels
  • The ability to communicate and present complex information in plain English
  • Exposure in working at a senior leadership team level internally and with customers
  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively
  • The ability to create and deliver a strong customer focus culture
  • Previous experience developing and implementing successful communication strategies for complex organisations.
