We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic Commercial Manager to join the team based out of our Milton Office in Brisbane. The role will provide the full suite of commercial services. Your responsibilities will include pre-contracts bid strategy, head and sub contract negotiation and risk management to optimise Downer's business opportunities whilst delivering compelling solutions to our clients. In the delivery phase you will provide ongoing commercial support and governance to ensure our project performance is predictable and delivers dependable results.
To be successful you will have:
- Five years’ prior experience in a commercial role within the mining or heavy industrial industry;
- Experience in delivering commercial services in the project delivery phase
- Demonstrate ability to build relationships with key stakeholders;
- Strong skills in negotiation and advocacy;
- Familiarity with project controls and project performance metrics
- A sound understanding of Australian standard and bespoke contracts;
- Demonstrated ability to understand the early signs of project distress;
- Demonstrated ability to resolve contractual disputes; and
- Tertiary qualification in law, finance or business.
