Downer is a significant player in the telecommunications industry within New Zealand.  We are growing our business through delivering consistent service, excellence and results and through developing inspirational leadership with our people and customers.  Due to recent growth in our Telecommunications an opportunity has arisen for an Operations Support Manager to lead our telecommunications team based in the North Island.

The principal purpose of this role is to provide effective leadership to teams of support staff across the country to ensure we have a highly motivated and productive workforce consistently delivering results and efficiencies.  Providing an optimised resource model through line balancing nationally and across functions to leverage the support network resources will be key. 

Being an experienced effective leader your ability to develop, coach and lead team members to enhance skills and increase capability both individually and as a collective will be key.   This role looks after a wide scope of activities and ensuring continuity of service and performance, including invoicing targets, therefore having managed products/services within budget will be called upon.

Your previous history with process improvement including leading and implementing change will be essential as you will be looking for efficiencies across a wide range of activities.  Continually looking at how we can improve will feed your appetite of making things better.

About you:

  • Demonstrated successful coaching skills to help people be the best they can be
  • Experience in process and change management frameworks

  • Persuasive presentation skills
  • Establishing and communicating direction
