We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Asphalt team. You’ll be responsible for organising and recording quality operations of asphalt laying, assisting the team with data collection, ordering products, testing materials, ensuring project operations achieve a superior level of safety performance reporting to the Contract Manager.

About the role:

As our Quality Assurance Technician, you’ll participate in the preparation of Contract Quality Plans, ITP and other support documentation in line with contract specifications and requirements. Plus on a day to day basis you will be required to:

  • Complete all quality assurance and quality control documentation
  • Carry out activities on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the Quality Plan, Inspection, Test Plan and Project Plans
  • Calculate material quantities on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with customer requirements and place an order for more if needed
  • You may be asked to travel around the country side for one odd weekend and be a part of one of projects
  • Highlights quality/compliance issues as they arise to ensure a pre-emptive rather than reactive response from Manager.

About you:

You will have a practical understanding of the different applications and Asphalt treatments, pavement construction, site plans inspection and of course, attention to detail is a must for this role!

Apart from the technical requirements of the role, you will also have:

  • Class 1 Full New Zealand’s Driver’s Licence
  • A diploma/bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a similar qualification
  • Experience in maintaining accurate records and data management
  • Computer savvy and also have the willingness to learn more at the same time
  • Be a ‘Team Player’ with excellent verbal and written communication skills
