Our Sealing Division covers the development and maintenance of both rural and central roads across New Zealand. Due to a booming work schedule, we require an experienced Foreperson to step in and lead our Chipsealing crew.

What does a Chipsealing Foreperson do at Downer?
Based out of our Tauranga depot, our Foreperson will lead their crew to complete construction and resurfacing works on roads across the Bay of Plenty region. Supervise and manage Chipsealing crews whilst they conduct civil infrastructure chipsealing activities. Be involved in the planning, organising and directing of crews, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time and meeting our customers’ expectations.

About you
With demonstrated experience supervising teams and subcontractors across a range of chipsealing work, you will feel right at home in our fast paced and highly compliant environment. You will be a confident communicator who’s able to give clear instructions and provide on the job training to your team members. We’d also value:

  • A Class 2 drivers licence with a WTR endorsement
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • A positive and solutions focused attitude
  • Someone who’s flexible to work any given day as this is an annualised hours contract
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with unexpected events whilst provide direction.
