Our crew in Invercargill are now looking for Asphalt Surfacing Workers to come and join us as we carry out work across multiple paving projects in Southland. Invercargill is a gateway to the wilderness areas, if you enjoy spending your days outdoors this could be the role for you.

About the role:

In this role you’ll undertake the preparation, laying and finishing of asphalt pavements from small maintenance patches to subdivision access ways all the way through to state highway carriageway resurfacing. You will be working with a range of asphalt mixes.  In this role you’ll carry out general asphalt surfacing duties including labour and machine operations. You will get the opportunity to operate a range of asphalt equipment including trucks, pavers, skidsteers, rollers and small tools.

This position will require travel around Southland, Central Lakes and Otago for overnight stays and the flexibility to work night shifts and weekends. All accommodation and travel costs will be covered under the South Island Collective Agreement.

About you:

In addition to your commitment to safe work practices and the willingness to work alongside your team to achieve our targets, you will also bring:

  • A minimum class 1 full New Zealand Drivers Licence
  • Previous experience working with Asphalt is preferred.
  • Class 2,4,5 and WTR endorsements are beneficial.
  • Be physically fit as you carry out hands on activities such as shoveling, digging, lifting, periods of walking and standing
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends and travel across Southland, Central Lakes and Otago.
