About the role:

The focus of the newly created role of National Manager Projects is to develop and maintain a centralised project management function for the Facilities Services (FS) business and to provide governance, leadership and management of FS projects throughout New Zealand, optimising resources and driving strong financial outcomes.

In addition to achieving growth within current customers, the National Manager Projects role will investigate new business opportunities that will grow the FS business.  This role will need to collaborate with the business development team and others as required to provide the necessary bid direction and leadership.

At times, the business operates outside of normal business hours in order to meet contract KPIs and as such, there is the requirement to work outside of normal hours and undertake regular travel throughout New Zealand, which may include overnight stay(s).

About you:

We are looking for dynamic and inspirational leadership!  You must have extensive proven management experience with responsibility and accountability for staff and financial outcomes. 

You must have expertise as a Senior Leader who can create and deliver a strong customer focus culture with experience and expertise in programme management, planning of resources and project delivery preferably a substantial level of experience in the construction industry.  In addition to your experience, you must hold a tertiary qualification or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or Business Management.

You will be someone who possesses strong emotional intelligence, passion and drive; financial acumen; courage; a collaborative and team based focus; clear demonstration of Zero Harm commitment; people leadership experience and a proven track record of operational excellence and delivering on operational promises and commercial outcomes.

As we operate outside of normal business hours and are spread across New Zealand, there is the requirement of working outside of normal hours and undertake regular travel, which may include the requirement for overnight stay(s).
