The Facilities and Asset Services (FAS) business provides maintenance, turnaround, shutdown and sustaining capital programs for industrial operations and power generation across Australia and operate across industries including minerals and metals, iron ore, petrochemical and refining, bulk materials handling and processing.
We are currently seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join our Facilities Asset Services business for an upcoming major Outage contract, this role is based on-site in the Naval Base region.
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will be responsible supporting the managing of the Zero Harm procedures and policies onsite with the key focus being compliance culture, and continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities will include
- Ensure all employees work in accordance with Downers Policies, Procedures and Management Plans.
- Implementation of the Health, Safety & Environmental Management Plan as it pertains to the client.
- Responsible for supporting the management of personnel and safe delivery of allocated works.
- Ensure the HSE management plan is implemented in accordance with Downer and Client requirements.
- Regularly/Daily visiting the worksite and confirming acceptable HSE standards and behaviours are exhibited by all personnel; across all contracts / sites
- Implemented of Field Observations and Audits inline which BU expectations and KPIs; these may vary depending on BU / Corporate requirements and focus initiatives.
To be successful in this role you must provide evidence of the following:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an HSE Advisor role at a Power Station and/or shutdown environment
- Cert IV in HSE as a minimum
- Strong communication skills with the ability to develop a rapport and influence
- Experience with Incident Investigations using ICAM and 5 Why
- An understanding and a working knowledge of HSE practices, standard and codes
- Providing HSE guidance and advice to site staff
- Competent with Microsoft Office and other software packages
- Excellent problem-solving skills and high level of attention to detail
- An industry White Card
