Downer's Sealing division is highly respected and has a great track record for delivering a high standard of work. The Labourer/Chip Runner works within crews on a day to day basis, undertaking site works and activities in accordance with project plans and target objectives.

Your day to tasks will include: 

  • General labouring activities assisting the team
  • Being the spotter for our Chip Spreading truck
  • Running chip, adjusting the application rate to achieve optimal spread rates, and manually spreading chip where required
  • Following health and safety standards and procedures


About you
Ideally, you’ll have proven experience and exposure to sealing with a genuine interest in the civil infrastructure industry. You'll also have:

  • A Full Class 1 - Licence required.
  • A Full Class 2 - preferred but not essential, we can help with that
  • The ability to work hands-on as a team player
  • Good timekeeping skills – punctuality and reliability is key!
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the confidence to communicate with your crew and the public
  • A high level of physical fitness as you will spend your days outdoors and on your feet
  • Our teams do work away from home so a willingness and ability to travel is important
