Due to growth requirements, we have a full-time opportunity to join the Downer People & Culture – Utilities team of 12. We are proud to be a motivated, supportive, and collaborative team who work closely together to assist our Utilities division (which includes the Telecommunication, Energy, Water & Automation business units) with end to end recruitment support. This role would manage the Telecommunication portfolio. Across the Downer business, there are 24+ Recruiters, exposing you to a fantastic training and development environment to catapult your Recruitment career.


About the Role:

The purpose of the role is to support our leaders meeting their recruitment requirements, from specialist and management roles through to operators in the field. You will provide expertise and best practice recruitment solutions to the business and work closely with hiring managers and the wider recruitment team. Focus your energy on what you do best – attracting and acquiring talent!

Day to day you will be managing the end to end processes for the exciting Telecommunications portfolio that covers all of New Zealand. You will work with a core group of hiring managers to arrange a talent attraction strategy that meets their needs; take job briefs, advertise, shortlist, candidate management, arranging interviews, offers, negotiations and issuing employment contracts. As part of this role you will work collaboratively with the recruitment team to add value to the wider business through process improvements & efficiencies, as well as building our name in market with ad-hoc brand awareness campaigns, careers fairs, and international recruitment drives.

The key to the success of this role is to have a genuine interest in our business, building relationships with our hiring managers and candidates, and working creatively to attract the right audience and acquire the best talent effectively.  


About You:

We are looking for a high performer who shows initiative and drive. The right candidate will have a proven experience with recruitment processes and a passion for making a difference. We are looking for a motivated individual who thrives off building and sustaining meaningful relationships. Talent attraction, talent pipelining and proactive sourcing are a real focus in your recruitment approach, and you will enjoy the fast-paced nature of a busy recruitment desk. Naturally you will have strong communication skills, be able to multi-task and deliver outcomes in a timely, effective manner. Ideally you will have used sites such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Seek Talent and TradeMe Scout.
