About us

The Downer Base Services Support Centre BSSC office is located in Enoggera. The Contact Centre delivers support to QLD, SNSW and ACT members of the Australian Department of Defence.

Having supported Defence for 80 years across a range of services, the Department of Defence is one of Downer’s longest standing customers.

About our Traineeships

You will attend training and complete TAFE modules within set time frames. You will be guided to complete the relevant Certificate III in Business Qualification and gain practical on-the-job training with guidance from experienced, skilled individuals with the potential to join the team.

Reporting to the Base Services Support Centre Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Initial assessment of scope of request or call and raising new work and service orders
  • Raising docket related purchase orders for trades
  • Add notes to service requests such as when trades are on site or have completed jobs
  • Support and contribute to our commitment to continuous quality improvement

About you

Downer Defence are seeking expressions of interest for those looking to undertake a Business Administration Traineeship and join our team in BSSC in Enoggera. Our traineeships are 12-month full time fixed-term positions and open to school leavers and mature aged applicants who have a keen interest in obtaining a Certificate III in Business Administration through our Traineeship Program.

Other key skills and experience required include:

  • Completion of Year 12 School Certificate or equivalent (advantageous)
  • Relevant work experience, hobbies or interests
  • Available to commence late January / early February 2023
  • Completion of Year 12 School Certificate or equivalent (advantageous)
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Defence Baseline Security Clearance and must be an Australian Citizen
  • Current Driver’s licence will be advantageous
