About the role:

Downer Power and Gas is a leading provider of end-to-end services, providing design, construction & maintenance solutions for Power & Gas distribution network owners.  Experiencing business success with strong project pipelines, we have a need for a number of great people to join our team.  Committed to meeting the highest regulatory standards we are aligned with some of NZ’s largest networks, covering up to 30,000kms.

As the key support for the Operational team, based in Lower Hutt, you will be influential in ensuring accurate and timely documentation to ensure invoicing, JDE and Work in Progress is managed to appropriate levels in the Lower Hutt region. This fast paced, variety filled role will see you also providing support for your team and the greater Downer Power and Gas business. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring materials, and equipment are managed effectively and efficiently
  • Purchase orders are raised with suppliers/contractors prior to delivery
  • Monitoring of overall work order accuracy and reconciliation
  • Work order statuses in JDE accurately reflect the current status
  • Ensure the procurement and stores function runs effectively and efficiently. 

About you:

Previous experience within an operations/industrial environment would be ideal as this role will see you responsible for many different areas within the branch. Offering first-rate organisational skills, you will also be able to offer:

  • Experience in Stores & Procurement or related function desirable
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, intermediate Excel skills
  • JD Edwards experience preferred
  • Electricity distribution network experience desirable
  • Proven ability to pick up a variety of new systems quickly
  • Full Drivers’ Licence - Current driver’s license (applicable classes – F/OSH endorsement, class 2 preferred)
  • Physical stamina to carry out manual work
