THE ROLE:

An opportunity has become available for a People & Culture Business Partner with a proven track record working in a customer-focused operational environment, to join us at a pivotal point of rapid change and growth.

The core purpose of the People & Culture team at Downer is to provide cost effective, contemporary and strategic human resource and industrial relations services; that enable engaged, high performing and skilled people to consistently deliver to their customers. As a key member of the team, you will support business goals through delivering the people strategy. Adept at building strong relationships with operational leaders, you will deliver people, culture and change initiatives within our Utilities Confluence Water Joint Venture.

Please note: this position is a 12-month fixed-term contract however does not limit the future opportunities it presents within Confluence Water and the wider Downer business.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor of Human Resources, Business or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated and successful ‘hands on’ experience in a HR generalist role, ideally gained in Utilities, Engineering, Construction or project environments.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of current ER and IR legislation and HRM best-practice.
  • Broad HR generalist experience including change and communications management, labour strategy and the execution of the people strategy.
  • Passionate about people and down to earth.
  • Positive approach to change and ambiguity.
  • Experience in developing workforce and capability plans and programs.
