About Mineral Technologies:

Working with customers in mining operations for over 80 years, Mineral Technologies, a subsidiary of Downer, delivers innovative, cost-effective process solutions for Iron Ore, Mineral Sands, Silica Sands, Coal, Chromite, Gold, Tin, Tungsten, Tantalum and a wide range of other fine minerals worldwide.


Reporting to the General Manager, People & Culture this role will be a vital partner to the business.  You will be responsible for both strategic initiatives and delivering on the day-to-day operational activities.   

  • Provide our leaders with coaching, advice and support across all areas that impact our culture including talent development, team engagement, leadership, change, organisational design, capability, development, and organisational effectiveness
  • Collaborate with People & Culture colleagues to bring some of the initiatives in our People Strategy to life, including the design, delivery, and project management of both local and global deliverables
  • Provide coaching and expert advice that enables our leaders to fulfil their people management responsibilities
  • Utilise data and analytics to provide insights and identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience and overall organisational effectiveness
  • Partner with leaders to drive and successfully deliver our core people processes
  • Provide guidance and advice on performance management, disciplinary matters and manage compliance related activities
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our people processes and practices
  • Partner with Group IR specialists to plan, prepare and negotiate our EBA process
  • Build and maintain partnerships with our leaders and key stakeholders to foster trusting, co-operative working relationships


  • Significant experience as a HR generalist in a commercial environment
  • The ability to be forward thinking and build and leverage strong relationships across all levels of the business
  • A global mindset with a willingness to navigate working in globally dispersed teams across different time zones
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and delivery of people programs centred around the employee lifecycle that shape and influence organisational culture
  • Employee relations experience and knowledge of employment legislation
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities and an ability to work with pace
  • A team player that demonstrates the ability to collaborate and provide support as needed
