As a key part of our construction team you will report to the Project Manager and have a regional function reporting to the Operations Manager. Your role will involve the management of specific projects, delivering on project requirements, optimizing resource use in order to achieve the following outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have extensive civil infrastructure experience along with sound practical project experience and be highly responsive and appreciate the need to move quickly.
About the role:
In the role of Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in achieving project targets, being the eyes and ears on site and being responsible for making the work happen. You will have strong working relationships with the Project Manager, Site Engineer, Foreperson and Subcontractor/s to help the workflow smoothly. The ideal candidate will have extensive civil infrastructure experience preferably in a New Zealand environment and sound practical project experience, be highly responsive and appreciate the need to move quickly.
About you:
To be successful in this role we are looking for the following skills and attributes:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
The ability to promote an environment that supports Downer's philosophy of health and safety in the workplace
Excellent organisational skills and demonstrated customer relationship management skills
Sound project or engineering operations experience, including budget management and detailed knowledge of productivities
Strong commitment to Health & Safety initiatives
Track record in managing self-perform, plant and resource management
Ability to promote excellence in project delivery, safety, quality and productivity
Proven experience in large project delivery
Subcontractor management skill
Exceptional problem-solving abilities
