We have multiple vacancies with a steady pipeline of Maintenance and Construction projects on the horizon.

About the role:
As a Downer Concrete Worker/Finisher, you will be a specialist tradesperson who works alongside a team, and individually at times, to plan and carry out specialist concrete and formwork within the structures and maintenance departments on a day-to-day basis. You will optimise the use of company resources and contribute to the successful completion of our Auckland-based contracts.

Essentially you will pour, spread, smooth and finish concrete for structures such as ramps and footpaths etc. Other responsibilities include;

• Erecting concrete formwork and laying steel reinforcing
• Pouring, spreading and levelling concrete using screeds and templates
• Forming expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers and straight edges
• Cutting lines in concrete using power cutters
• Cover freshly poured concrete with colouring powders and other materials.
  
  

About you:
You will be a team player with an organised and systematic approach to the working environment with some experience in the civil contracting industry. You will also have:

• A NZ Register Level 1 qualification (or equivalent), or secondary education
• Experience in specialized concrete and formwork
• Experience with finished concrete work to pre-cast finishing standard (desirable)
• Full Drivers licence
• A Zero harm focus
• The ability to work well within a team and independently
• Good communication skills
