Infrastructure Projects, a division of Downer’s Australian Operations Business continues to secure further Transport Projects as we continue to build on our reputation of meeting and delivering on Australia’s major Transport Infrastructure needs.

Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager we are looking for an experienced Digital Engineer to support in delivery of major infrastructure projects. We are looking for someone with experience working with Tier 1 contractors to deliver major projects, implementing Digital Engineering processes across the project lifecycle to gain efficiencies during construction planning, delivery and handover.

Projects typically involve major road and rail infrastructure in complex brownfields environments, working with multi-disciplined design and construction teams.

This is a new position within our business unit and the typical role expectations will include but not be limited to the following,

• Coordination of Digital Engineering on projects, including the management of consultants and subcontractors to ensure deliverables meet both Downer and Client requirements.
• Working closely with project estimating, planning and delivery teams to support their functions using Digital Engineering process and tools.
• Working to define digital engineering standards and process to be utilised by Downer to implement our Digital Engineering strategy.
• Working collaboratively with Client to understand their Digital Engineering requirements and how best to implement these on projects.
• Working with our teams to identify needs for new software solutions and supporting the procurement of these solutions including scoping & assessing. 

To be considered, you will possess the following,

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
• Member Engineers Australia
• Chartered Engineer CPENG, NER
• Demonstrable experience of implementing Digital Engineering on projects and responding to client requirements, with preference for experience with the TfNSW Digital Engineering framework.
• Proven knowledge managing both Digital Engineering process and project systems incorporating model federation, asset classification, technical implementation, and monthly reporting (data analytics).
• Demonstrated ability to explain and deliver projects following information management best practice.
• Strong experience in implementing Digital Engineering process to support project delivery, including the use of 4D planning, estimating and cost planning.
• Proven experience with the management of data across project teams, including data outputs from design consultants, subcontractors, and the construction team.
• Experience in managing the requirements for digital survey to support project delivery, including both existing conditions and as-built processes.
• Experience in managing the development of model-based outputs inclusive of BIM, GIS, and Visualisations and data insights
• Ability to define Digital Engineering requirements for the supply chain and monitor and report against these requirements to the Engineering Manager
