About the job: We expect continuous growth across the region and are seeking a Civil Drainlayer / Leading Hand to join our work whanau, deliver to project plans, and get home safely at the end of each day.
You will be a hands-on expert with regards to drain laying (civil and roading operations). Your day-to-day will involve conducting and leading activities including drain laying, benching and haunching, water, waste-water and storm water projects, completing reporting, plant maintenance and emergency repairs.
You will be confident to step up and act as the site Foreperson as needed - supporting the delivery of contract requirements, maintaining a safe site for all, optimisation of resources, achieving targets, as well as providing training to up skill the crew.
This is an opportunity for you to take charge of your career, gain exposure to a major project and utilise your expertise and crew management skills. This is primarily a Monday – Friday, full time-permanent position based out of our Whangarei depot and involves occasional weekend and night work.
About you: Along with your keen interest and experience in Civil Drain laying, you will take pride in your work, be a solid team player and like to have a good laugh! We’d really value:
A certified drain layer / someone working towards their qualifications
Strong safety and quality focus to keep the public and team safe
A Full Class 1 drivers license
Strong planning skills and the ability to deal with unexpected events and make decisions
Demonstrated leadership experience is beneficial
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to speak up and direct others
