The Engineering Manager is a project leadership position for a major rollingstock and infrastructure project in Queensland, Australia. The Engineering Manager will be the second in charge to the Technical Director and will manage a team of technical Engineering specialists.
The role is responsible for managing the interaction with key Stakeholders ensuring that their input into the design process is encouraged, received, and acknowledged. In conjunction this role is to assist the interaction in the design review process and the efficient review of design review packages. This input is required across the operational and interface aspects of train design, manufacturing facilities, maintenance facilities and Through Life Support services.
Mature negotiation skills are required with associated engineering disciplines including to ensure the project’s safety, timelines, costs and quality are maintained. The role requires that the project goals are maintained within a complex stakeholder environment and technically communicate solution benefits to a wide range of stakeholders within the project timelines. The role will interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience
Must have 10 to 15 years' relevant experience in rollingstock or large infrastructure with rollingstock project delivery.
Strong experience in the integration of multiple workstreams for a major infrastructure project.
Experience developing and being accountable for railway safety cases and associated safety documentation.
Highly developed oral and written communication skills with all stakeholders, including the ability to conduct detailed investigations and provide clear and decisive results and written reports.
Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) and eligible to be registered on Engineer’s Australia National Engineering Register and relevant State Engineering Registers.
