Downer Automation is the EICA delivery arm of Downer New Zealand. We are in the growth phase of building capacity and capability on the back of number of very large contract wins in Water, Utilities, IOT and EICA sectors. This team has been built on being New Zealand’s largest provider of Water Services, Radio and Telemetry and IOT services and a recognised industry leader and we are using this base to continue to grow. We use a full suite of products to create innovative solutions providing high-quality services to our clients.
The Role:
Reporting to the Dunedin EICA Project Manager you will be responsible for undertaking Electrical activities as prescribed to you in the Automation team.
You will be part of a team of Electricians, Apprentice Electricians (and other general duties staff) to undertake a wide variety Automation and Electrical work in accordance with contract requirements – both planned and reactive.
You’ll be responsible for:
Carrying out associated tasks as required on Industrial Electrical, PLC and SCADA assets as determined by your EICA Team Lead and clients.
Carrying out maintenance and repairs and new & existing Automation and Electrical installations to be completed promptly and efficiently.
Growing the Automation capability and capacity
Other general duties as directed.
You will be required to Travel as needed. A tool of Trade is provided.
Automation Experience and knowledge of Industrial PLC’s, SCADA and Instrumentation an advantage
Drivers Licence – Class 1 minimum
Ability to communicate effectively
Computer Literate (ability to complete time and job sheets, and technical literacy to operate static and mobile telemetry devices)
Ability to plan jobs, organise your teams, operate and maintain equipment without supervision
Experience of dealing with customers
Must deliver outstanding quality, service and performance to our clients and utilising the Downer Standards
A willingness to learn new technology
