Significant population growth is occurring and is expected to continue in the West Camden and Sydney South West Growth Area catchments over the next 30 years. To accommodate such tremendous growth, the West Camden Wastewater Recycling Plant will be amplified to meet customer needs and stakeholder requirements. 

To undertake this significant task, Downer and BMD have engaged in a Joint Venture to undertake the amplification works on behalf of Sydney Water.  The Project Team will be primarily based at the West Camden Water Recycling Plant located at Grasmere NSW.

THE ROLE

Downer are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to provide leadership, guidance and expertise to the strong and high performing West Camden team. By optimising cost, quality and safety outcomes, the Project Manager ensures successful coordination and delivery across the projects resulting in customer satisfaction.

Some of the key responsibilities include;

• Establish and maintain good working relationships with a range of stakeholders, clients, subcontractors & staff.
• Develop project budgets and manage time and cost performance of projects and work packages.
• Form optimal Work Packages for projects and ensure that construction methods are optimised and improved to maximise performance and the project outcome.
• Provide accurate cost reports and forecasts, in accordance with project limitations and deadlines.

ABOUT YOU

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience & leadership qualifications.
• Experience in driving quality outcomes in project delivery.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience in managing multiple crews, both internal staff & subcontractors.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a changing environment.
