Our Transport Projects Division are involved in some of the most demanding projects in some of the most challenging locations across New Zealand. Our Teams are involved in large scale multi-million dollar projects across all civil infrastructure disciplines. We are currently delivering a large number of key major projects including the Plimmerton Area Capacity Enhancements (PACE), SH58 Safety Improvements, LGWM Thorndon Quay & Hutt Road, Various ECI contracts Upgrade and there are several other exciting opportunities on the horizon.
Based in Wellington, this role will provide a diverse and challenging opportunity to help capture, deliver, and grow our business including the effective and successful delivery of projects managed.
About the role:
Reporting to the Regional Operations manager, as the Project Manager you will provide leadership and direction across the project teams which include Engineers, Supervisors, Forepersons, Administration and Sub-contracting staff, providing the link between the frontline workforce, our customers and the communities we live in.
Day to day you will be involved in:
Managing project budgets and financial project reporting
Managing resources including staff, plant, suppliers, subcontractors and materials
Supporting and mentoring the project team
Ensuring commitment to zero harm, HSE and environmental compliance
Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with staff, customers, stakeholders
About you:
The ability to drive profitability and results through operational excellence on time and to budget
Broad engineering knowledge ideally with experience across roading, structures, rail and three water projects
High level of emotional intelligence to work with and build strong relationships with employees, clients, subcontractors, stakeholders and walks the talk
Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
Experience in leading, facilitating and inspiring a team of project staff
Proven management experience with responsibility and accountability for employees, plant and return on investment
Excellent commercial acumen
Demonstrated history in developing a culture of Zero Harm
Minimum of 5 years + Project Management experience, tertiary qualified
Strong track record in the delivery of successful projects
