DM Roads is delighted to announce it has recently been awarded the new Victorian Road Maintenance Contract (VRMC) by the Department of Transport. We will deliver routine maintenance, planned maintenance, defect and hazard rectification and emergency response services to more than 8,500 lane kilometres of road in Victoria’s Hume region, stretching from Mitchell Shire on the edge of metropolitan Melbourne to the north-east corner of the State.
As a result of this win, we are for a Quantity Surveyor to join our VRMC team based in Wangaratta.
You will be accountable for the efficient and effective management of all project related commercial and contractual matters including the active day-to-day administration of the head contract and any subcontracts placed on projects. Successful project delivery will be contingent upon the Quantity Surveyor active leadership and participation in the key areas of project planning, project delivery, subcontractor management, risk management, project reporting and project close out.
What you’ll bring
Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying/Contract Administration, Construction Management or Civil Engineering as well as previous experience in the same or similar role
Excellent commercial management skills including interpreting and applying contract terms and legislation provisions
Sound working knowledge of project management principles and project control applications
High level of self-discipline, self-motivation, energy and initiative
Negotiation and influencing experience to achieve desired outcomes
