About the role:

Due to significant growth within the business, we have an exciting opportunity for a Rail Protection Officer to join our team in Christchurch.

You will be a part of a team that designs, builds, and maintains 25,000 kms worth of roads, transport and Rail Infrastructure throughout Aotearoa. We work in 120 locations across the motu and can self-perform a wide range of activities in a live rail environment, such as civil and track works, construction of maintenance facilities and supporting structures, signals and communications, levels crossings, tunnels to name a few.

About you:

An STMS or Site Manager who has an interest in becoming Rail Protection Officer, ideally experience with working with KiwiRail and with current RPO qualifications however an eagerness to learn and willingness to take the lead in Health and Safety on sites with good communication skill is vital in addition to:

• A Class 2 licence with WTR endorsements (Class 4, 5 licence would be advantageous)
• A commitment to safe working practices & processes - you will hold the lives of others in your hands
• Flexibility in working hours and able to travel when required
• A problem solver who is self-motivated and solutions focused
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to influence
