NEWest Alliance is a multidisciplinary collaboration between CPB Contractors and Downer, working with the Public Transport Authority to deliver two projects (Yanchep Rail Extension and Thornlie-Cockburn Link) as part of METRONET.
As a Senior Aboriginal Engagement Advisor reporting to Aboriginal Participation Manager, your primary purpose will be to drive strategic direction and governance in the area of indigenous participation & social inclusion to enhance work-winning and project delivery. You will be assigned several key responsibilities to manage within our company which will have direct impact on our business. We need people who are talented, motivated and disciplined, and who have a strong work ethic that drives them to succeed. This position is based at the NEWest Alliance Bibra Lake project office.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Provide advice and guidance to all tenders and bids regarding the Indigenous and social procurement KPIs and requirements
Ensure all tender and bid responses are completed on time
Maintain the Corporate strategy for Indigenous procurement and social inclusion
Ensure projects are aware of their KPIs and requirements when starting up
Assist projects to understand and implement their social procurement and inclusion reporting process
Provide advice and assistance to implement initiatives that will assist the projects to meet their targets
Assist with formulating the Indigenous procurement strategy for the company and identify key Indigenous suppliers
Liaise with and build relationships with suppliers and organisations that can support our procurement requirements
Identify the support network required to meet our procurement commitments
Responsible for educating and support the BU’s and projects to achieve our corporate Indigenous employment KPI (currently 3%)
Assist with the development of the Reconciliation Action Plan
Assist with Aboriginal engagement activities to support achievement of outcomes towards the Gnarla Biddi Strategy and the Aboriginal Engagement Participation Plan
Liaise with key Aboriginal stakeholders in potential project communities
Provide advice and support for Project personnel to ensure compliance with client requirements relating to Aboriginal engagement and community contributions
Liaise with and build relationships with suppliers and organisations to support the procurement requirement
Identify and liaise with the support network required to meet the procurement commitments
ABOUT YOU
Degree or post-graduate qualifications in Business Administration, Human Resources, Indigenous Studies or other associated disciplines
3 years’ + experience in a social procurement or similar role
5 years’ + experience in Indigenous Affairs
Knowledge of government policies and requirements in the construction industry
Experience in key Aboriginal stakeholder engagement including business liaison
Knowledge of current government policies and requirements in the construction industry and tender process
Understanding of procurement processes to foster sourcing and integration of Indigenous businesses into supply chain

High standard of written and oral communication skills and good interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask
Great communication skills with stakeholders
