Confluence Water, the Ventia, Downer and Jacobs joint venture, is one of three regional delivery consortia providing services under Sydney Water's Partnering for Success program. Confluence Water delivers design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services in Sydney Water's North region, which stretches from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River and includes the Hills Shire.
We have an opportunity for an experienced Cost Controller to join our Confluence Water Joint Venture team, in a permanent full-time position located in our Chatswood office.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the role will be covering the delivery of a portfolio of projects for Confluence Water and is accountable for cost control, budgeting, cost planning and benchmarking across the project lifecycle.
Working with the project management teams to establish and manage project budgets, forecasts and cash flow forecasts to support the project teams in delivering within the agreed budget allocation.
Responsible for collating and maintain project cost data including comparing and anlysing variances and trends.
Provide analysis and commentary on projects performance including monthly/quarterly/ad hoc reporting to the management team and other key stakeholders to ensure that expenditures are kept within the project budget.
Perform cost-to-complete analysis for all cost elements within a project taking into consideration staffing plans, contract commitments, expenditures to date, change orders and trends.
Attend project meetings and discussions with project management teams in order to provide current financial information and the implications for project expenditure.
Analyse compensation event values against current budget and prepare reconciliations to include in the current forecast at completion
Work with project teams to establish benchmarking data, provide commentaries and reports to continuously improve and drive efficiencies on future projects.
ABOUT YOU
Demonstrated Cost Controller experience in Engineering and/or Construction.
Tertiary qualification in an Engineering field.
Experience with commercial issues related to time and cost matters.
Demonstrated skills working in a collaborative environment.
Proactive approach, problem solving skills, able to communicate effectively.
