NEWest Alliance is a multidisciplinary collaboration between CPB Contractors and Downer, working with the Public Transport Authority to deliver two projects (Yanchep Rail Extension and Thornlie-Cockburn Link) as part of METRONET.
As a Senior Document Controller reporting to the Document Control Manager for Downer, based in Bibra Lake, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative team of document control and quality professionals responsible for supporting our construction operations. We are seeking talented, motivated and enthusiastic professionals that are keen to progress their career on a one of Western Australia’s largest infrastructure projects.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Support continuous improvement of TeamBinder and related processes and procedures on the project
Assist with developing and delivering training, related to information management practices and TeamBinder.
Provide TeamBinder training to project users including Document Control, Client, NEWest, Designers, Subcontractors and any other project stakeholders
Support Document Control processes and procedures on the project
Process incoming and outgoing correspondence/documents in TeamBinder, in both project and client TeamBinder instances
Manage design and subcontract packages in TeamBinder
Assist and support the NEWest Alliance Project from a quality control perspective – working with the project team to develop work flows, lots, etc.
Work closely with Digital Engineering function to coordinate the receival and onward transmission of design packages to client
Be a NEWest Alliance Champion for any support/ assistance/system updates/working with corporate TeamBinder and Quality teams
Assist with any other Document Control project tasks as required
Maintaining effective working relationships with Project Team/s, key personnel in both Downer & CPB BU’s and contractors;
Work with and liaise with Quality & Design Engineering on the implementation of the document control system as the project progresses;
Enhancing NEWest’s external and internal relations through displaying professionalism in all interactions; and
Delivering document control services that meet the needs of relevant stakeholders
Ensuring the effective and efficient use of NEWest processes and systems
Actively participating in one-on-ones and the PDR process
Working with people at all levels and developing a strong understanding of the work process and sequencing
Managing own work performance
Encouraging an environment of sharing knowledge and ideas to ensure continuous improvement within the team

ABOUT YOU
5+ years’ experience working in a Document Control/Quality Coordinator role.
Technical competency or detailed understanding in document control
Attention to detail
Strong communicator who has skills in training
Skill in stakeholder communication
Delegation and decision-making skills, e.g. quick thinking and confident in outcome
Systematic approach to conducting work
Sound understanding of document and information lifecycle
Ability to handle high pressure work environment and juggle conflicting priorities
Good understanding of construction phases and project management
Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a wider team based in different locations
