Significant population growth is occurring and is expected to continue in the West Camden and Sydney South West Growth Area catchments over the next 30 years. To accommodate such tremendous growth, the West Camden Wastewater Recycling Plant will be amplified to meet customer needs and stakeholder requirements. 

To undertake this exciting task, Downer and BMD have engaged in a Joint Venture to undertake the amplification works on behalf of Sydney Water.  The Project Team will be primarily located at the West Camden Water Recycling Plant located at Grasmere NSW.

THE ROLE

Downer is seeking to appoint a Senior Project Engineer (Electrical) on a Full Time, permanent basis to support the Electrical component of the WW Recycling Plant upgrade. The successful appointment will have the opportunity to utilise their strong electrical expertise and contribute to a significant project with future opportunities available within Utilities and the wider Downer Group. This role sits within a close-knit team who focus on culture and meaningful work. 

Some of the key responsibilities include;

• Provide Electrical support on a complex range of small and large projects that include design, construction, commissioning and handover of infrastructure and assets.
• Interpret and apply technical contract conditions.
• Undertake the risk management process.
• Ensure project delivery complies with and meet expectations from the client, communities, environmental management requirements and other legislative requirements.

ABOUT YOU:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Significant on-site project experience (Water experience highly advantageous).
• Exposure to the delivery of new MV and LV infrastructure in a brown field or green field environment is highly advantageous. 
• An understanding of AS3000 and AS61439 as it applies to LV switchboards.
• A understanding of AS2067 in relation to HV installations.
• The ability to build strong working relationships and the desire to work within a team environment.
