We are looking to appoint a Senior Finance Manager based in our Penrose site in Auckland.
The Senior Finance Manager is a key member of the Northern Leadership team and is responsible for the overall financial and accounting functions for the Northern Region. The role requires you to be a trusted partner and advisor providing support and insights on the performance of the region, being analytical and driving business improvement and decision support. This role will also be required to undertake project work as required from time to time.
The Northern Senior Finance Manager will:
Ensure sound commercial, financial, contractual and business practices are applied across the Region which are consistent with policies and business systems
Provide quality financial accounting support to the Northern area to a high level of satisfaction
Proactively provide insights and commentary on financial performance that enables improvement discussions that lead to positive change
Track the Regions financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
Report to management and key stakeholders, providing advice on how the Region and future business decisions might be impacted.
Provide leadership, guidance and support to the Regional Finance Managers
Support project analysis, validation of contracts, and ad-hoc requests
Work closely with the Northern Commercial manager in the preparation of information to support contract reviews, variation claims (as required) and areas where training and development opportunities exist within the operational teams.
About you
Essential to hold a tertiary qualification or equivalent in Accountancy, Business Management or similar. Desirable to have CAANZ membership or equivalent as a Chartered Accountant (CA)
It is essential to have;
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the construction and/or infrastructure sector
Successful experience of providing management support in the construction, infrastructure or similar sectors
Successful experience in project or contract management
Held business/commercial management positions over at least ten years preferably with contractors in predominantly civil infrastructure projects
Ability to work under pressure in a fully integrated team environment
Strong analytical skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to influence
Develop and foster strong working relationships with operations as this clearly defines success in the role
Proven experience of business development in a commercial environment.
