About the role 

This is a varied role that will prove to be both challenging and rewarding as you embark on a collaborative journey designing, planning, and executing a range of chip sealing projects.

You will work within a supportive regional team to deliver excellence on contract objectives whilst also optimising resource use, championing a Zero Harm work culture, and ensuring stakeholder relationships are enhanced to maximise our commercial success.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our close-knit contract team in Otago where you will be provided the opportunity to build a successful career with New Zealand’s leading Infrastructure provider.

In the role, you’ll be:

• Assisting with methodology and programming
• Contributing to pricing of sealing tender opportunities
• Spearheading the delivery planning of the physical works
• Ensuring work is meeting our high-quality standards
• Assisting with procurement and management of subcontractors
• Upholding health and safety best practice and promoting a Zero Harm culture
• Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external

About you

You’ll have had a few years’ experience within the civil space and will be a competent engineer. You’ll be looking to develop and progress and work with a knowledgeable, welcoming team. Most importantly though, you’ll be a team player who enjoys working collaboratively and understands the value of learning from those around you.

In addition to this, you’ll have:

• Strong experience using MS Office & Microsoft 365 Applications
• A strong focus on details
• Experience in project financial management and reporting
• Current Full Drivers’ License
• Ability to work across geographical boundaries
• Preferably hold or working towards gaining a tertiary qualification in engineering
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with all team members
• Ability to think laterally and provide solutions
