Our Road Marking division are proud to be leading a range of projects maintaining and enhancing road markings on roads, bridges, and pathways across New Zealand. We currently looking for a reliable and motivated Thermoplastic Roadmarking Assistant to help us deliver on assignments across the country.

About the job

You will support our thermoplastic road marking crew of category A or category B Type Operators who carry out long life marking and reflective pavement marking (RPM) installation. This is a full-time (guaranteed 40 hours per week), permanent opportunity, delivering to clients in various locations throughout the country. Your daily activities will include:

• Helping with installation or remarking of Type A and B markings in Thermoplastic
• Helping with installing or remarking of hand-laid Thermoplastic
• Physical fitness is required as manual handling is a core function in the role
• Operation of Thermoplastic pre-melter
• Maintaining traffic control, plating and other maintenance work as assigned.
• Ensuring efficient and safe use of materials, supplies and equipment.
• Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and all targets (productivity, quality and safety) are met
• Working with your team to execute the current and future workload
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, crews and the general public
  
  

The role requires both night and day shift work, so the ability and willingness to work on a roster is essential.

About you
You will be a team player who is motivated by achieving goals collectively. We’re seeking someone with the willingness to commit to on the job learning and training opportunities. You will also have:

• Able to remain calm under pressure
• Can recognise and prioritise allocation of resources
• Experience in or a keen interest in civil construction & roading
• Essential to have a Class 4 Drivers License or be able to obtain one.
• Have strong attention to detail with the ability to plan, listen and problem solve
• Have excellent verbal and written language skills and have the confidence to put forward ideas for productivity and quality improvements
